Weather shuttle – art and culture in Windhaag
This major project is located on the Central European watershed between the Moldova in the Czech Republic and the Danube in Austria. It is here where the rainwater is collected in two bowls and according to its weight it is then diverted from the Moldova into the Danube or the other way round. The art project is located directly in Pieberschlag and has free access.
Energy exhibition
Using the example of Windhaag the exhibition shows very figuratively that “energy independence” (meaning an even energy balance) is not a utopian thing, but can be achieved with a bit of effort. The energy consumption as well as the given energy saving and using potentials are shown with the “energy barrel 2005” and also with the “energy barrel of the DAY AFTER TOMORROW”.
Mühlviertler Waldhaus (forest house)
The Mühlviertler Waldhaus with its forest educational path gives insights about the varied forms of biocoenosis in the forest.
The most precious gems in the Waldhaus is a 80 year old bog spruce, the tree grate of a 450 year old boondocks spruce and ca. 9 million old fossilised wood. Two kilometres away from the Waldhaus there is an educational path, where the coherences between the forest and the forest works are shown on a 3.5km long circular path.
